One-time gifts

Estate Gifts are wonderful ways to demonstrate your love for Lutheran Healthcare Center or honor your loved one.  Furthermore, when you inform us that you have placed the Lutheran Healthcare Cenbter in your estate plans, you will be named in The Brook Farm Society of Lutheran Social Services of New England.  Your name will also be listed on a The Brook Farm Society plaque at Lutheran Healthcare Center for years to come!

Memorial or honorarium gifts:  When giving online, you will be offered the opportunity to indicate that your gift is remembering or honoring a particular individual.  When mailing a gift, please include a note indicating that your gift is “In Memory” or “In Honor” of an individual, as well as the name of the individual being honored.  Also, please state if and where you would like a note mailed indicating that a gift was made to honor them or their loved one. Memorial or honorarium gifts are frequently specified for either the Staff Appreciation Fund or the Activities Fund. Staff Appreciation gives Christmas gifts to all the staff and runs special events for them. The Activities fund helps provide musical entertainment for the residents.

The Memorial Garden Plaque is a donor recognition plaque that honors our residents, families, staff and friends. A tree, shrub or bush is planted on our grounds in memory of a beloved friend as a living memorial, and an engraved brass leaf is placed on the plaque with that person’s name. To donate to this fund, contact the Activities Director or e-mail activities@lhcare.org about the type of planting you would like done with your gift.

LUTHERAN HEALTHCARE CENTER Wish List is made up of needs that require immediate funds:

Gifts made out to LUTHERAN HEALTHCARE CENTER Equipment Fund could by your choice be allocated for:
  • A bladder scanner
  • Quiet pill crushers
  • An extra mechanical lift
  • A new scale
  • A pulse oximeter
  • Handicapped accessible doors for the Jeppson Residential Care Unit
Gifts made out to LUTHERAN HEALTHCARE CENTER Family Council Fund would currently be allocated toward a new wall-mounted LCD television for the Olander Building Day Room.

Volunteers: Our one hundred plus volunteers have a significant impact on the Lutheran Home. They contribute their time and gifts to help staff care for residents.  Opportunities include:
  • Entertaining residents
  • Assisting residents with daily activities
  • Assisting with recreational programs
  • Coordinating service projects
  • And much more!

LUTHERAN HEALTHCARE CENTER Program Committee has raised thousands of dollars by coordinating fundraising events. In addition to raising money, this group hosts special events that bless staff and residents of the Home.  Events include: 
  • The Staff Appreciation Lunch
  • Weekly Summer Barbecues
  • First Night Events
The Program Committee members are willing to spend their time to coordinate these events — and often reach into their own personal funds to give sacrificially to this ministry —  because they desire to provide a comfortable and loving environment for residents of LUTHERAN HEALTHCARE CENTER of Worcester.
