On August 4, 2011, a dedication ceremony was held at the Lutheran Healthcare Center.

It marked the closing of the capital campaign that raised more than $1 million which were used for improvements at the Lutheran Healthcare Center. The staff of the LHC was congratulated on a perfect, deficiency free survey by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, as well. Lastly, the party celebrated the dedication and renaming of the Lutheran Healthcare Center in honor of Pastor Paul and Carol Kennedy.

New signs are up now that read:

The Paul and Carol Kennedy
Lutheran Healthcare Center.

The Kennedys were present to see a plaque unveiled in their honor by Lutheran Social Services President/C.E.O. Heather Feltman. Also in attendance were Pastor Kenneth Bean, David Forsberg, chair of the LHC advisory board, and Steven Scheibel, the administrator of the LHC.

Several additional donor recognition plaques were dedicated and displayed and will be permanently affixed to the walls at the Lutheran Healthcare Center:
  • The Rev. Kenneth O. Bean Chapel, honoring the beloved chaplain of 33 years, by the members of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Westborough.
  • The Rehabilitation Suite, donated by Trinity Lutheran Church.
  • The Family Gathering Room, donated by Immanuel Lutheran Church in Holden.
Many congregations, foundations and major donors to LHC are memorialized, as well.

The event program and the tribute to donors are available to read online.
